Project summary
The objective of this EU funded project is to create a book that contains a collection of traditional and cultural stories from 5 countries within the EU namely GREECE, MACEDONIA, MALTA, ROMANIA and SPAIN.
The work conducted involves teachers and students from the 5 partner schools where students go to elderly homes to collect tales from the past from the ones who experienced them first-hand. This project will create a unique relationship where two diverse age-groups come together via the art of storytelling. Children are enriched by cultural and language development, and the elderly people are made to feel that they can still offer a contribution that is valuable and appreciated in today's society.
A partnership is created throughout the project time-frame so that participants meet within each member state for a series of transnational meetings and activities. During these meetings participant teachers discuss and plan the project output. The activities, on the other hand, provide for a unique opportunity for school children to visit the schools in the different partner countries and to share their experience of story collection and writing.
